Making Friends Where Ever We Go
Making Friends Where Ever We Go
Its amazing how many things one can see. I witnessed a truely amazing thing last week. My husband Jim, is not an outdoors person. I tease him and call him a "City Slicker".
So I was a bit surprised last week when Jim decided to join me and our boys at the park for a lunch cook-out. But my surprise grew even greater when I saw Jim hand feed a Peacock in the park!
There is a wonderful zoo within walking distance of our hotel. In front, is a city park. The zoo has Peacocks that roam around the park at times.
On this day, Jim decided to offer the poor bird some bread. To both of our amazrmrnts, Jim knelt down and fed the bird. See the photos included. They are truely awesome!

I'm either nuts or very eager to find a new life. I'm truely not sure Which one I am. I am fourty-two years old. I had a lovely little house in my hometown in Tennessee. I am married to my best friend. We have two little boys that we both adore and admire. I say admire because they both have thier own stories. I will write about that later.
My husband lost his job last fall. After struggling for months to make the payments on our beloved little home, We decided to put it up for sale and hit the road, with the hope that he could find work in another state. So far we have met some interresting folks. And we have seen alot of the great northern states. I saw some lovely sights in Illinoise! You will see some of the photos I took on our journey. I also met some folks that shared thier stories with me. I will share some of that here as well.
This is truely just a little blog to share my life's journey. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave comments, good or bad. We learn from our mistakes. So I welcome your comments. Enjoy your trip as you explore the world through my eyes.

Editor's Note: Art Buchwald asked that this column be distributed following his death. Buchwald wrote the column on Feb. 8, 2006, after deciding to check into a hospice, suffering from kidney failure. He had discontinued dialysis and also had one of his legs amputated below the knee. He subsequently was released from the hospice, wrote a book about his experience and also resumed writing his syndicated newspaper column. He died Wednesday surrounded by family members.
You see it in the newspapers all the time -- a trillion dollars. It may be the cost of Medicare or national defense, or the size of the national debt.
The family was gathered in the living room looking at Christmas cards. The first one opened was from Donald Rumsfeld. My daughter-in-law said, "They send us one every year."
"We'll win the war."
